Welcome to “The Hunch” because I can’t change the URL

This blog launched in late 2010 as “The Hunchblog of Notre Dame”. Originally intended to discuss, analyze, and review adaptations of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I had gotten into the novel about a year prior to the blog’s launch when I randomly watched Belle from Notre Dame de Paris on youtube. It was intriguing enough that I watched the rest of the musical that day.

From there I read the book, and watched any of the movie versions I could get my hands on. This is very on track for me since I did the something with The Phantom of the Opera a few years prior.

The original intent was that I would review the Hunchback works and move on to something else but I didn’t. Instead I have kept going and very early in the blog’s life I was reviewing other works like the Disney Sequels, Fairy-Tale/Fantasy movies, the entirely of the main show of  Once Upon a Time, and more recently Netflix’s Wednesday.

A Shift

In owning to my interests of pop culture and wanting to write more then JUST The Hunchback of Notre Dame I’ve made the decision just to lean into it and rebrand this blog as “The Hunch.”

Now if you are a long time reader of this site, fear not, not much is actually going change. I will still do  Hunchback content regularly like Hypothetical fan-casting but now we can do more not just that.  I also have a few more Hunchback versions that I haven’t gotten to yet. But Hunchback of Notre Dame is still my wheelhouse so there will always be some form of Hunchback content on the horizons.

This decision also comes on the heels of a Hubpages, a writing platform discounting their user submitted content. I joined Hubpages back in 2014 when Squidoo another writing platform shut-down and accounts were transferred to Hubpages.  The only other opinions for reposting my articles are Substack and Medium and while I Haven’t ruled out posting content on these platforms it doesn’t seen the right fit for my Hubpages articles many of which are embarrassingly enough movie costume ranked lists. So  many of them are going to reposted here, and some might not, and some might get reworked entirely. A few articles have already been reposted here.

While it’s scary and daunting for me to rebrand to “The Hunch,” I think it’s a needed step. I hope my longtime readers will continue reading and supporting the blog because nothing much will really change expect for more scope, more content, more insights, and hopefully more fun reading. That’s the intent and the hope at least.

(Also there are some hiccups with this change…)
