Memories of Past Works

Way back in 2011 I joined Squidoo. Squidoo was ad-sharing writing platform where users could create a single page, or a lens. These articles could be on any topic. I started writing content on the Hunchback to help drive traffic back and forth between the blog and my “lenses.” In 2014 Squidoo shut-down and the content transferred to Hubpages.

Hubpages was the same type of user-generated content platform, a little less cheeky but much the same. Hubpages didn’t exactly shut-down but it cut users off from the revenue earning. So many of the users, myself included, opted to remove their pages from the platform.

Quite early in my run on Squidoo I did lenses dedicated to the performs of across the multiple casts and version of Notre Dame de Paris focuses each character. Most of these article were published on Squidoo between May 2011 to December 2012. The outliner was Phoebus. The Phoebus one was never published on Squidoo as I forgot about till 2022 so it was only ever hosted on Hubpages.

I always find these pages hard to work on and maintain but by 2022 it was significantly harder do all the different cast revivals and tours. However I pressed on till Hubpages cut-off the users based and I made the decision to remove my articles off the site.

Since it was a pain to keep up with casts I doubt will move the article as they were to my humble blog but I do like the idea of keeping a record of my part work alive. I could also do post highlight one perform at time but I’m not sure how interesting that would be unless it was more review focus instead of more broad-strokes biographies of the performer like the articles. In the past I did think about doing ranked list of each role as to avoid being harsh but I never got around to that.

And Now A Bonus

The dates of when I first published these Characters Performers from the Notre Dame de Paris Productions:

Esmeralda – May 2011
Frollo –  June 30th 2011
Quasimodo – August 2011
Fleur de Lys- Septmember 2011
Gringoire – February 2012
Clopin – December 2012
Phoebus July 2022

And remember if you really want to learn more the performers and cast you can always visit The Notre Dame de Paris Musical Fandom Site. It’s much better than my articles anyway. Not being self-deprecating just honest.

I just finished a new Squidoo Lens. It’s on Esmeralda’s Green Costume. I want to make a few lenses on the Costumes from Notre Dame de Paris. I picked the Green Costume first because it’s iconic, it’s my favorite  ^_~ and it differs so much from cast to cast. This lens is the reason I’m late with my article this week.  This lens was labor of love for me ^^. Please Enjoy though I may add more (sewing patterns that work for this costume  are hard to find).

Anyway Please Check it out – http://www.squidoo.com/nddp-costume-esmeralda-green
Let me know what you think. Leave a comement, sign the guestbook, or just vote in the polls ^_~

What I wrote in 2012 – “I have created a new Notre Dame de Paris Lens,  The Top Ten Worst Song of Notre Dame de Paris. As much as I love NDdP I know not every song is that great or even good. I started this Lens a few weeks ago and finally decided to finish a few days ago. It was actually hard to come up with ten but I did, so find out which song are the worst of the show.

And feel free to disagree with me. So click the link to find out what they are and why……..Enjoy”

2019 update- if you’re reading this in 2019, Squidoo no longer exists and this post will be removed at some point.

2022-  I can’t remember why this one didn’t transfer to  Hubpages like that other ones did way back when hubpages took over squidoo’s content. I could have just deleted this it though. I could just a post on it. But It’s unlikely that I will remove this post.

2026 – I find this interesting that I have updated this post twice prior. Seems very in character for me to waffle about removing this post. Though I still have list so maybe I will post this one soon because while I do love the musical not all the songs are great or even make sense in the narrative. Hopefully I will add a link here should I post it as full post.

2026 Update: A Record of What Once Was

Some Lore. In 2011 I joined Squidoo. Squidoo was ad-sharing writing platform where users could create a single page (a lens) on any topic. I started writing content on the Hunchback to help drive traffic back and forth between the blog and my “lenses.” In 2014 Squidoo shut-down and the content transferred to Hubpages.

Frollo of Notre Dame de Paris

So back in the early days of my time at Squdioo, I was obsessed with Notre Dame de Paris. I got the idea to dedicated pages to performers of each role throughout the different casts. Frollo was actally the second of this series of articles, I started with Esmeralda but I posted Frollo’s lens and not Esmeralda’s not sure why.

These pages did transferred over to Hubpages and I did try to keep up with them over the years. They were very time-consuming and hard to maintain. In fact I forgot to do Phoebus’ page entirely till 2022, that’s on me.

I think my original plan was to have the lenses of all the performers on a different platform and do more in-depth reviews of the performers on the blog but I never did that. I might but it can be very hard to source clips of the performers from over a decade ago and I’m not sure I want to anymore.

However do know that it’s very doubtful I will add these articles to the blog as they were too unwieldily to keep up with. This is due to the fact that show is still going. There are new performers all the time. It’s great for the show but hard to keep up with and update. Plus organizing the page was getting harder since there was gap in French Language casts with the revival and performers like Daniel Lavoie being in multiple different productions casts and languages. It was a lot in the end.

On the Plus Side

The good news is you don’t even need me to repost these articles because The Notre Dame de Paris Musical Fan Page has you covered. They keep up with better than I ever could and I no shame is admitting I used them as a resource many times.

Bad side is I think at one point they used one of my related Hubpage articles as a source which made me feel special but that article is gone so no more feeling special.
