Balls in Bridgerton are full of great characters moments whether they full of yearning, passing glance, reconciliation or prelude to scandals. They are not only memorable scenes but are a feast for the eye. However not only are the balls important for the characters they are full of elaborate ornate costumes, gowns and dresses.

This list ranks 10 of the Best Balls in Bridgerton with the best costumes. Balls in Bridgerton are grand formal affairs and more often than not they have a theme or a dress code that the attendees adhere.

So far this list will be 10 but the number could expanded with upcoming seasons and there is aloso honorable mention. With the conclusion of season four there has been about 24 featured balls.

The ranking is heavily influenced by costumes but setting, character interactions and plot points were considerations.

10. Vauxhall Ball (Season 1 Episode 1)

The first episode season one ends in grand elaborate ball. However unlike other balls in Bridgerton, Vauxhall is a public ball so there is a lot different looks from the different social classes that are present.

The theme of this ball is springtime but with some shades of a midsummer’s night dream, so the party-goers wear flowery costumes with Penelope Featherington getting to wear a non-citrus pink look while Daphne Bridgerton wears a subdue yet iconic blue gown with blue flowers.

Vauxhall is a fan-favorite with fireworks on and off the dance floors along with some great example of different types of formal attire from Bridgerton’s unique take on Regency era London.

This seems to one of the only public ball depicted in Bridgerton so far.


9. Ingenue Ball (Season 1 Episode 3)

After Simon ends their ruse, Daphne begrudgingly turns her focus to Prince Friedrich. In one of the most significant costume moments of the series, Daphne makes her entrance into Ingenue Ball embodying her role as the “Season’s Diamond. “

The Ingenue Ball has an ethereal heavenly atmosphere. In addition to Daphne’s diamond white glitter gown, the rest of the ton dress is light airy gowns that float as they dance. The Ingenue Ball as features one of Cressida’s most memorable looks from season one with her intricate hair style with braids and pearls and light pink gown.


8. The Diamond Ball (Season 2 Episode 1)

Ever since season one, much is made of the season’s diamond, or the “it girl” of the season made so by Queen Charlotte. While in season one, Queen Charlotte called Daphne Bridgerton flawless and Lady Whistledown refer to her as “a Dimond of the first water, ” the naming of the season’s diamond is made more of thing in season two complete with a ball, The Queen’s Diamond Ball” for her to proclaim the young lady in front of the ton.

The decadent gowns worn to the Diamond Ball have shades like a diamond in whites, grays and pale golds with sparkly, shimmering and metallic details making for a beautiful pretty looking ball atmosphere.


7. The Danbury Ball (Season 2 Episode 1)

Stated in season one and expanded on in the Queen Charlotte spin-off show, the first ball of the London season is hosted by none other than Lady Danbury.

The Danbury Ball in the second season is in a conservatory giving the affair a botanical theme. Many of the attendees wear floral patterns, rosettes or fabric flowers sewn on to their outfits. Penelope Fearthington laments that her mother dressed her up as sunflower.

While florals and flowers are fairly common for Bridgerton, this ball dials up the usage to eleven with nearly every character having some kind of floral element on their outfit.


6. The Featherington Ball (Season 2 Episode 8)

Season two culminates in the Feartherinton Ball, a gilded affair that centers on the signatures colors of the Feartherington family, citrus colors. Some of the guests at this balls wear more saturated colors than we are used to seeing them while other wear subdues shades. Regardless of brightness the guests adhere to the citrus colors including greens, oranges, pinks and yellows.

Some characters stay in familiar shades like Penelope in yellow, Edwina in pink and Eloise in green however some characters are a little more daring opting for colors they seldom wear like Kate in orange, Cressida in green and Violet in a soft yellow.


5. The Trowbridge Ball (Season 1 Episode 4)

The opposite of the prim, innocence and ethereal Ingenue ball, is the Trowbirdge Ball which is more seduction and open. This ball has a striking black-white dress code. The guests, aside from the Featheringtons and Cressida, wear light tones with splashes of black in a patterns, sashes, drapes or other details and accessories.

The entire aesthetic of this ball looks like a it could be a music video from the 1990s.

The black and white style compliments a very scandalous and provocative affair which has almost character acting in passionate uninhibited ways.


4. The Hasting Ball (Season 1 Episode 8)

Much like some of other balls the final ball of season one, The Hasting Ball center around a color which is Bridgerton Blue which is Daphne’s signature color. The shades of blue also compliment the sudden downpour of rain in which the Duke and Duchess reconcile.

While most of the guests wear shades of blues and other cool tones the Featherington wears their own citrus color making them stick out.

Despite the Featheringtons not getting the memo of the theme, the Hasting Ball has a refined and elegant atmosphere and the guests’ costumes reflect the style of the hosts.


3. The Masquerade Ball (Season 4 Episode 1)

A Major set piece and plot point of season four’s premise episode is Violet Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball. Unlike many of the other balls in the show the masquerade ball is from the books is the backdrop for Sophie and Benedict’s meeting. The choice that is it’s a masquerade ball ins perfect for Sophie as she is a a cinderella-like character the masks and costumes provide her to maintain her mystery. 

A choice the production made was to have some characters go all out with their costumes whereas some character just paired a dress with a mask. The idea was to emulate how real people dress for costume party. However while some character didn’t make much of an effort other characters did and they make up for it. Plus the extras are more decked out than normal Bridgerton Balls.

2. The Full Moon Ball (Season 3 Episode 2)

The Full Moon Ball in season three has one the prettiest over-all aesthetics in Bridgerton thus far. Its theme is celestial with white rose arrangements in phases of the moon. The guests of this ball all follow the dress code dressing in lunar inspired shimmering gowns in soft often cool tones like gray, blues, and whites. They also wear jewelry with stars and moon settings.

Definitely one of the prettiest and more inspired themes for a Bridgerton ball.


1. The Hearts and Flowers Ball (Season 2 Episode 4)

For a show called Bridgerton, the Bridgerton themselves host comparably very few balls. The first one that lady Violet Bridgerton hosts is during a country visit and is called “The Hearts and Flower Ball.” It has a pink dress code with a myriad of flowers. All the guests even the Featherington wear pink shades that are deeper and more saturated than the Bridgertons and the Sharma’s outfits. Lady Danbury wears a bright red outfit but her jewels are pink so it counts.

While this ball has an air of romance it actually is more sensually charged as Kate and Anthony have their first dance which is intense and layered with questions and concealment over their strong yet suppressed feelings for one another.

Despite Kate and Anthony’s desires all the characters’ ball gowns are gorgeously on-point and well suited for the atmosphere of this ball scene.

Honorable Mention: The Reveley Ball (Season 1 Episode 3)

While Simon and Daphne have the ton convince they courting, it’s really a multiply beneficially ruse however Daphne enjoys being in Simon’s company that other suitors. Their burgeoning romance is on full display at The Reveley Ball which has a bird theme.

This ball is decked out in bird decorations with a peacock center display and live parrots. For this theme the the attendees all wear feathers mostly as head pieces.
