This scene is from Book 9 Chapter 1 Delirium of the novel where Frollo, in his guilt and growing insanity, finds Esmeralda in Notre Dame and think she is specter.

Curious that Esmeralda’s hair is red in this huh? The only other time I’ve seen her with red has been in certain casts of Notre Dame de Paris  and Maureen O’Hara in the 1939 version but that doesn’t really count as it’s a black & white movie.

I’m not sure about the art  it’s simplistic and the color are muted. It might work better in context  full of the work.

Tim Conrad’s Graphic Novel of The Hunchback is going to be out  July 31 2012 but you can preorder, Click here to preorder it

OMG thanks so much for featuring my tumblr on your blog, much appreciated! I found these 2 pages on http://www.amazon.com/Hunchback-Notre-Dame-Victor-Hugo/dp/1595829520. These particular pages can be viewed using the “click to look inside” feature ONLY if you sign in to amazon.com. I must admit I am intrigued by the artist’s point of view in this comic – the art is definitely simplistic, almost child-like but quite powerful IMO. Also, even though I can’t really tell from the existing pages, it looks like that this comic book follows the story faithfully.
Yeah, the red-haired Esme caught my eye too. Not sure how I feel about that!

Cool! The graphic novel and the KH 3D game come out on the same day. I’m going to be getting the 3DS and the game just so I can play La Cite Des Cloches…and I have to get the graphic novel.
