To think the Villain faced all that hassle because they were honest about the protagonist’s birthday.
Tangled is a gorgeous movie that successfully took the foundational elements of the Disney Renaissance and brought them into the new medium of 3d animation.
Tangled is based classic fairy-tale but with a dashing swashbuckling old Hollywood-type hero for a romance lead for the shelter native yet super charming princess. Plus there is a actual proper villain which won’t be seen again in non-twist form for over a decade, which is crazy.
The 3d animation of Tangled is warm, vivid and uses a lot of soft curves to suggest romance and enhance the fairy-tale setting. The songs on the whole are pretty good but the songs lack a over-all cohesive sense of style, they just sound like a great musical.
However the love song/scene is among one of Disney’s best romantic scenes ever making it the highlight of the movie.
I didn’t love Tangled when I first saw but it has grown of with each repeat viewing.
Also Maximus is great. I love him, he’s such a good boy.
