This News is from August
Back when I did a six month check-in on the Vincent Cassel’s Quasimodo project, I was HOPING that the casting would be announced and at that time I didn’t see any aside from an AI overview, which I have a healthy scepticism for. And again, at that time, I wanted to see if there was any truth to the info that AI was giving but when I tried to go back it didn’t offer up that same info. So I didn’t really go into that much other some speculation based on the stunt woman credits. (I hate AI.)
HOWEVER!
Netflix Info
I was considering reviewing “Plane” to better get a sense of Richet’s directorial style. I wrongly thought it was on Netflix and while I didn’t find “Plane” I instead I found a listing for “Quasimodo.” The movie so far is being described as “sincere” and “romantic” it also lists the cast.
Now apparently the cast was actually reported on Vogue France back in early August (2025) and the Netflix listing is the same as the vogue article. However it’s not yet been added to IMDB. But since the information is listed on Netflix and Vogue France I’m going to post it here. Also please note that in both listings there no mention of who is actually playing which roles I would guess but seeing as it’s still unclear how far this version goes with adaptating the novel it’s hard to guess.
(2nd Row) Benjamin Voisin, Noémie Lvovsky & Sébastien Pouderoux
Along side Vincent Cassel, there is Karim Leklou, Daphné Patakia, Noémie Lvovsky, Benjamin Voisin, Sébastien Pouderoux, Eli Nachmani, & Alexis Rosenstiehl.
It should be noted that Sébastien Pouderoux, Eli Nachimani, & Alexis Rosenstiehl’s inclusion are no tlisted in the vogue France article but are listed in Netflix information as well as some other places on the internet like Letterboxd.
So they’re being secretive as to the characters. Guess we’ll have to wait longer. If this was more clear-cut adaptation I would be making guesses but alas it’s a folly to try. But I will guess that the earliest that is version comes up in end of 2026, November/December by that is just a guess.
***A day after I posted this I checked IMDB and low and behold the cast is now there. It wasn’t when I wrote and schedule this post.
