The Viscountess Bridgerton
Lady Kate Bridgerton – Simone Ashley
Costume Designers – John Glaser, George Sayer & Dougie Hawkes
After a tumultuous start to their love story, Kate and Anthony marry off screen, which is sad that we the viewers were deprived of that event. Kate (née Sharma) in season three is Lady Kate (Kathani) Bridgerton, Viscountess Bridgerton. This makes her the lady of the house and one the heads of the Bridgerton family.
However Kate and Anthony are still in the honeymoon phase and like to go on prolong honeymoons together leaving others in charge. Hopefully they will get more screen time in upcoming seasons.

Lady Bridgerton and her Costumes
As Kate is only in three episodes in season three she doesn’t have a lot of costumes. In total she has seven dresses/gowns with one coat and one nightgown, so that is nine costumes in total. Most of her costume subtle blend her Indian heritage with her new status.
This page is a ranking of Kate’s Season Three costumes with nightwear and the outer garment included.
Season three has a very unique sense of style, love or hate it’s defiantly an aesthetic.
The costumes are ranked on memorability, aesthetics and how well they reflect Kate, The Viscountess of Bridgerton. Also subjective opinions could be a factor in the ranking, can’t be helped. Also order can change
Spoiler for season three.
9. The Gray Pelisse
Kate wears this gray pelisse when she is returns home with Anthony from their second honeymoon. It has a peacock-like motif but something is a little off. Green and blue fabric make up the trim, collar, sleeves details and a panel at the back. The colors are tied together on the main part of the pelisse at the bottom with peacock feather design. It’s just the gray color of the coat that just seems off especially when paired with the lovely Indian inspired jewelry.
The gray fabric on its own is pretty but it’s not the most flattering for Simone Ashley’s undertone. Maybe a different color or a deeper saturated color like a blue or purple or a teal. Or if the gray fabric had been contrasted with a darker colors it would have been more flattering for Simone Ashley’s undertone.
Conceptually this pelisse is fine, as the silhouette is pretty and the idea of the peacock motif works with Kate, it’s just the combination of the color palette.
8. The Engagement Party Gown
Upon arriving home, Kate and Anthony are met with the news that Colin and Penelope are engaged, thus Kate gets to work planning a party for the the happy couple.
As hostess Kate wears a dark red gown with metallic gold lace overlay. The dark red fabric looks like a velvet. It’s pretty enough but it’s a little lost in scene with the low lighting. It’s pretty just wish there more too it like some beading or sequins would have helped.
7. The Danbury Ball Gown
The first ball of the London season is hosted by Lady Danbury and for season three the formidable dowager has a four seasons theme.
Kate’s ball gown consists of a rather complex off-shoulder shell layer that is sheer with a blue and brown pattern.
Gold sequins are used sparingly but they add a touch of sparkle. The sleeves are an angle fluttered-like shape with a light-weight dyed blue to brown drape at the back that acts a shawl as drapes over her arms and looks lovely in motion.
Under the shell she wears a metallic gold dress that has gold braid trim as the straps.
This look was used in promotional material and was used in the first sneak peak of the season which ends with Antony sneaking a kiss during their dance. If this was in jewel tones it would be so much more successful.
6. Pink Nightgown with Robe
In an intimate moment between the Viscount and Viscountess in their own bedroom, Kate wears a pink lace nightgown. It has a subtle floral pattern with a gathered bodice and pink ribbon that serves as the straps and the waistband. She then puts on a pale gold short robe.
It a soft pale released look for Kate which is nice to see her wearing an a casual yet slightly spicy scene.
5. The Presentation Outfit
Following in the foot steps of the past two seasons, season three starts with the presentation of the Ton’s debutante’s to the Queen. To the presentation a garden party for the ladies, Kate wears a draped outfit that makes her look like a spring goddess.
The outer-layer is a light soft pink and draped off the shoulders. It has light pink and light green embroidery which matches the green of the under-dress. There also the three dimension tulle elements all over this costume which is the style of the season.
Her jewelry is green and pink to compliment the outfit along with Indian inspired gold cuff bracelets.
4. The Blue Draped Dress
Kate is wearing this draped dress under her pelisse when she and Anthony return home. While they had wanted to tell everyone of their news, that Kate is “with child” their announcement is delayed by Colin and Penelope’s nuptial news.
While this dress reads as “sari-inspired, ” the draping does has roots in the Regency period as the draping invokes grecian and roman designs which were popular in the period. It’s also nice to see another Recency silhouette used in the show.
The sleeveless dress a muted golden green with light blue lace sewn over it. The draped itself is solid dark blue and the contrast between it and Indian inspired gold jewelry is beautiful.
3. Wedding Guest Outfit
To Penelope and Colin’s wedding, Kate wears a soft look which again combines her Indian heritage with her new role of Viscountess. Her sleeveless under dress is a paisley pattern made up of copper and light blue. Over layer is a long sheer shell has half-sleeves with an illusion neckline that is embellished with lots embroidery beaded flowers with loads silver sequins.
It’s a pretty and soft look which is a nice change of pace. Though it does make one wonder what her wedding gown and accessories would have looked like. Shame we never got that wedding look.
2. Orange Spencer with Blue Dress
As Kate tries to settle into the role of Viscountess, she wears one her more period looking outfit. It’s a a simple spencer (short jacket) dress combination however it’s a great example of blending Kate’s Sharma family style with her role as the Viscountess Bridgerton.
The dress is a dusty blue with darker blue three-dimensional leaf design with orange beads at the neckline. The spencer is a rusty orange with a metallic blue floral pattern.
Also it should be noted in this scene Anthony wears a dark purple and blue paisley vest which also showcase Kate’s influence on him which a nice touch.
1. Blue Dress with Shawl
On the eve before Colin’s wedding, Kate and Anthony offer some pre-wedding advice, well Kate more than Anthony. Kate wears an all blue look as she takes on the role of the level-headed sister-in-law to Colin.
This is Kate at her most casual, at least casual by Bridgerton standards. The dress is made from blue lace over a copper color fabric. She wears over the dress a dark blue shawl with silver metallic embroidered large scale flowers.
This look does skew more Bridgerton in style but the subtle nods to Kate’s background as still present adding a delightful personal touch for Kate. It’s a shame that this outfit go so little scene time because it was very pretty.
