Disney Pins trading is one of those things I like in theory but not so much in practice. As in I don’t do it but I watch content of other people doing it.Pin trading seems cute and fun though a capitalistic, overconsumption thing. Again no real hate for Disney Pin trading.
Amongst the myriad of Disney themed pins The Princesses get a lot of sets. This new one is the Enchanted Gown set. There are 12 in total and they feature each princess in a pretty gown inspired by their fancy formal looks. Some are more “inspired” than others.
So I’m going to rank and rate these gown, just the gowns based on 100% subjective taste. And how well I feel the gown is “enchanted” or how much I like the design. Warning going hasher to gowns that didn’t deviate from original look.
#12. Elsa
I get the feeling this one was a damn if they do damned if they don’t since Elsa’s blue ice queen “Let It Go” dress is so iconic. Even though given the entire Frozen franchise, Elsa has a lot of costumes. However adding snow flakes to her most well-known dress just doesn’t make it. It feels neither inspired or enchanted.

#11. Rapunzel
Rapunzel’s gown is a weird to me. It’s her casual dress just with frilly sleeves, more layers and some design. It seems that the designs represent the princesses’ aesthetic or theme of their movies but Rapunzel feels generic. Like there were options like the royal sun, the lanterns, Pascal, flowers, frying pans, paint brush or something. What is that design?
Also it seems like they didn’t know what to do with her hair. Was there a design dispute about leaving it down or putting it in braid but as compromise they did put with a weird braid in the middle.
This gown design is just a little too incongruous for my tastes.

#10. Aurora
Despite being a fan of Aurora in blue, I shall not hold the color choice against the overall look of this design. Tough that shade of pink washes her out.
The flowers are a little boring but I can understand it. The frilly flounce sleeves are odd. I don’t really hate them but I’m not onboard with them either. The train layer at the back should be longer or something it just look it was added on without too much thought.

#9. Belle
I will say that if this was the basis for the live-action dress it would be so much better. At least this design captures that lux opulence of the movie gown.
However despite the roses being on point it does feel like to on the nose from the original movie look. Besides the rose motif and that weird back layer thing there isn’t too much innovation to add enchantment to this gown.
Honestly if we’re not for that back layer thing it might have been more successful. I mean what is that back layer? A train? A bustle? It just look weird and tacked on. Belle you deserve better.

#8. Cinderella
This design is very much like her iconic ball gown however I do like additions. They are all cohesive to her overall design style. I like the neckline and the extra layer, it add soften and a touch of romance.
The white design at the hem I guess sort of looks like a pumpkin maybe but again like Rapunzel’s design it seems a like generic. At least with Cinderella’s the rounded look is harmonious with over-all look of the gown so it doesn’t read to me as generic as some of the other looks.

#7. Snow White
It does seem hard to elevate Snow White’s signature look but I think all the embellishments they added to this design really work and are quite whimsical. I adore the bodice of the gown with pearls sewn on the sleeves.
Where this design loses me is the butterfly pattern. I think if was more subtle with the pattern being smaller at the top of skirt and getting larger towards the hem it would have looked a like more grow-up thus more refined. I still appreciate that they tried.

#6. Mulan
At first I really like this design but the more I sit with it and look at it the more it seems to lose me.
It’s still pretty and has good sense of fluidity and command but there also too many ideas at play in this design. There are references to her match-matcher look and her armor. I like the idea of sleeves, they do really work for Mulan. Also I think that bright pink of the skirt pulls focus from the top which is lovely.
I do still like this but does this look though.

#5. Anna
At first I thought this design was a little too very close to her Queen coronation gown from the end of Frozen 2 and while yes it is based on that gown it does a few core differences. First off the skirt has more volume which is balanced out nicely by the off-the-shoulder neckline. Just a little thrown off by the gold and silver designs but they are pretty.
Also I love the dramatic train.
It’s just grander design over the original design. I’d wear this one.

#4. Jasmine
There are a few things about this look that are throwing me off. One and this could just be the picture but I wish the shading on her skin tone was a darker as well her skin tone is too close to gold of her jewelry. But issue with skin shading also throws off the slit of the gown making it look awkward more than elegant. Like we lose details like her chin, hands and feet. But maybe this pin might look better in real life and this just an issue with the image.
Second the volume in the waist of the skirt it just competing with the long sleeves.
I do like the idea of this look. The design is very on-brand for her and the color palette of the dress works as a homage for her iconic light blue aqua outfit. The gold design even look similar to the style of Aladdin.

#3. Ariel
My initial impression of Ariel’s Enchanted Gown was that it was middle of the pack. I appreciated that it was pink but it didn’t grab me as much as some of the other looks. However once I really looked at it and noticed the detail the more it grew on me.
Yes, the color is point in it favor. I don’t exactly mind that the brand putting Ariel in teal even though canonically it doesn’t make sense as her mermaid is custom color this between teal and green but it does seem the brand just make it more teal than the “Ariel” color of her tail. It’s just nice to see Ariel in pink.
The gold detail are very clearly on point with sea motif like shells, seahorses and starfish. These design are also done sparingly which help sell the look as both regal and enchanting. The folds of the skirt layers also give the effect of calm shell which also elevates this look over some of the other designs. Do I wish there was a hidden fork dinglehopper as part of teh gold sea motif? Yes, yes I do. That would have been perfect.

#2. Tiana
Tiana’s Enchanted Gown design is very much like her magical swamp wedding gown with some differences. The most notable is the neckline and making the skirt more symmetrical.
While I do like the asymmetry of her original dress I also like this re-design. It’s on point and looks just as enchanting. The design understands the assignment.

#1. Pocahontas
Well well well, Pocahontas finally gets a glamorous chic look that doesn’t reference her sequel dress.
I love this design. She looks so high-fashion and glamourous. Like she could walk a runway or red carpet. I love all the touches of blues, the neckline, the jewelry and the dramatic train. Her train looks intentional and not a tacked on after-thought.
I also love that the fabric looks like it has some weight to it which created this lovely draping.
This looks take her original look and dials it ip to 11 with some real and clear design behind the decisions.
Incredible Design!
