Sure there are a plethora of costume options from Disney movies that one can pick for a Halloween costume. These opinions range from heroes, villains, princesses, side-kicks and more.
But here is a list of some more unusual halloween ideas from Disney animated movies. Some are more unusual, some are just different costume opinions from a popular character and might be less “unusual” but not seen as much a party versus some other picks.

Old Hag from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
An oldie but a goody. Sure this one might be less unusual than some but it’s a good costume option as it spooky. Some strategic make-up, long white wig and a black cloak. You could add a poison apple either as accessory or as companion costume. Or another couple duo idea the skeleton that she kicks or the Raven.
The Coachmen from Pinocchio
While I might be an uncultured swine as I detest Pinocchio but The Coachmen is 100% a terrifying villain who is rather underrated in the Disney villain space. His costume wouldn’t be that hard to find pieces for. A red coat, purple scarf, gloves, a pipe, and hat. A short blond wig could also help.
Of course one can make it how ever they want however add a stuffed donkey for more of a chilling effect
Monstro from Pinocchio
There is also Monstro.
Truly a big scary whale isn’t a costume pick for everyone but it’s unique and you can be very creative with what you wear for it. If you’re a little crafty or sewing inclined you can add a patch or appliqués of those characters in his belly. I do like Figaro and Cleo but team Monstro all the way.
The White Flower from Alice in Wonderland
There is a myriad of halloween costume ideas from Alice in Wonderland, you can’t go wrong but the flowers especially the white rose is so pretty.
A creative seamstress could have a lot of fun crafting this one. But if your less crafty a tiered green dress is a good basis and a white headpiece.
Bonus point if you can’t find a dew drop brooch. Here a little tip, you can try to make on with resin or hot glue could work too.
The Owl as the Prince from Sleeping Beauty
This might be a tough one to pull off but it could be super fun especially if it was couple costume with a Briar Rose. You’ll need a red cloak and of course an owl mask to make this one work. Dealer’s choice on if you want to add the other animals and more “invisible” aspects of this costume. Just wear something though.
The Artistic Lady from 101 Dalmatians

Pongo did referred to this cool artsy lady as “Unusual” so I guess that checks out. I bet this costume could be fair easy to thrift or find in someone’s closet. Just add rounded glasses, a black beret, a wig and easel.
Bonus points if you have an Afghan hound. Her given name is Prissy.
The Rich Lady from 101 Dalmatians
Or as Pongo called them “The Fancy Breed.” If you have the sewing skill or the thrift gods are on your side this one could be really fun to wear. She is an alt-Cruella costume, a rich lady who loves dogs and walks. Bonus point if you have a black poodle.
The poodle’s name in the movie is Cocoa.
Mad Madam Mim from The Sword in the Stone
There are few choices with this one. You pick regular Mad Madam Mim, the “beautiful, lovely and fair” version or one her animal forms from the wizard battle. This mean you can be a purple dragon complete with a light purple wig.
This could be a very fun, unique and unusual one. Mad Madam Mim doesn’t get the love that she should.
Bonus points if it’s a couple costume with a Merlin in animal form or as a germ.
Merlin Germ is also another good pick on it’s own.
Ariel’s Sail Dress from The Little Mermaid
It’s fashion and an up-cycle. I think it could be little hard to acquire from actual sails but a sheet or upholery fabric with some rope will communicate the concept well. Just add a red wig to better showcase that it’s Ariel’s sail dress and not someone’s else sail dress.
Ariel’s Sea Foam from The Little Mermaid
A sparkly dress plus that red wig and BOOM you got Ariel’s magical sea foam dress. Of course for either of Ariel’s costumes you can add an Eric in either his signature look OR his torn outfit.
Genie Jafar from Aladdin
Jafar’s main costume from Aladdin is iconic. It’s a great blend of dramatic and villainous but his evil Genie look doesn’t get donw as much so why not? It may seem daunting but there is enough room for creativity in how you compile and interpret this costume concept.
Ray and Evangeline from The Princess and the Frog
A couple costume, a firefly and the evening star. Ray might be hard to figure out but Evangeline could be achieve with a sparking dress.
The Sundrop Flower from Tangled
This is one of the more unusual costume idea than the rest but a gold dress and some interesting make-up color combos could be a good basis for this costume. A flower imagery on the face could work well.
Bonus point if you duo with a Mother Gothel either young or old.
Which one of these is your favorite?
